Ple...Thanks for your thoughtful comments, Jeffrey.

Please understand that no one is more frustrated and disappointed than our team. We’ve worked very hard for this project during the past two years. And we continue to believe that our vision for redevelopment of Block 66 - with a new central library on West Washington Avenue - is the best solution for the entire community.Mister Billhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06267015398495109215noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2073952193775968296.post-68337288158596692532010-03-28T06:48:55.667-05:002010-03-28T06:48:55.667-05:00I appreciate that Fiore and Irgens is willing to p...I appreciate that Fiore and Irgens is willing to publicly disclose their side of the story. While there will always be some political positioning in such postings, it is nonetheless welcomed and demonstrates the companies' faith that the people of Madison (between the two sides) can make up their own minds.

You can count me among the very disappointed and significantly confused - despite the information. How could a project so far along in the process be derailed so quickly? While I can't help but point a finger and "dollars and nonsense", I also have the feeling that the mayor and the city council are not unified in their vision.

The studies and facts show that the people of Madison, Dane County and the South Central Library System need and deserve a new/revitalized central library. I hope that, for all the partners (public and private), the focus on service and community will prevail.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04960827132876225377noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2073952193775968296.post-28344679492776867442010-02-21T15:27:51.099-06:002010-02-21T15:27:51.099-06:00The newer models of heat pumps offer great feature...The newer models of heat pumps offer great features that make then even more alluring. Many new models feature added energy efficiency and more reliability than past models. There are ground source models that pull heat from the ground instead of the air.

NYC Hvac contractorsUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12325508205932279883noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2073952193775968296.post-57140070581457725352009-01-15T14:43:00.000-06:002009-01-15T14:43:00.000-06:00Very detailed knowledge has been gained in the evo...Very detailed knowledge has been gained in the evolution of good library design and functionality. The Illuminating Engineering Society of North America publishes the following suggestions. We have detailed recommendations that suggest 35 foot-candles are needed at the top of the book stack, and 6 foot-candles at the bottom. Areas like cataloging, circulation desk and reference desk, computer areas, listening areas and reading areas are looking for 30 foot-candles illuminance. Lighting designers typically prefer 40-50 foot-candles at the circulation and reference desk, an amount higher than EIS suggests. Also, in areas where extremely small print or finely detailed items are being studied, they suggest 50 foot-candles.Steve Hhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14180468900497986305noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2073952193775968296.post-73482794700397877122009-01-15T06:35:00.000-06:002009-01-15T06:35:00.000-06:00Do we have any standard for what amount of light (...Do we have any standard for what amount of light (luminance) is required for a Library? in reading area? in stacks? in reference section? cubicle?Suresh Nairhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13514061085200664025noreply@blogger.com
